50 Years of EPRG: A Journey of Technical Integrity
Celebrating five decades of collaborative research and the development of internationally accepted pipeline standards.

In 2022, the European Pipeline Research Group celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Since our first meeting in 1972, the goal has remained unchanged: to study the vital problems of gas transmission pipelines through collaborative effort.
A Look Back at Five Decades
What started with a focus on fracture mechanics has expanded into a multidisciplinary research organization.
Milestones:
- 1972: Founding of EPRG to address long running fractures.
- 1980s: Expansion of membership to include line pipe manufacturers.
- 2000s: Integration of service-providing companies for welding and NDT expertise.
- Today: Leading the research into hydrogen and new energy media.
"Our success is based on the collective expertise of our members and the rigorous assessment of every publication by our Technical Committees."
We thank our 27 member companies and all specialists who have contributed to making pipelines one of the safest modes of transport for energy.
