Emerging Fuels
EPRG leads independent, industry-driven research on hydrogen and COâ‚‚ pipeline integrity, closing critical knowledge gaps on the path toward decarbonization.
We are at the forefront of developing practical, industry-led guidance—most recently on repurposing existing pipelines for hydrogen transport and fracture-mechanics laboratory testing. These efforts provide clear pathways in areas where formal standards are still evolving.
To complement its hydrogen work, EPRG’s earlier research on dense-phase CO₂ has been extended to include gaseous CO₂ fracture initiation and long-running ductile fracture propagation. This supports the safe design and operation of infrastructure for CCUS applications.
EPRG continues to shape the future energy system by addressing the transport of green molecules as well as COâ‚‚ as a by-product.
